Good Brand of hood pins to use?

Ford Racing. On both me and my friends cars... quality is great. He has 67 shelby replica lanyards though.

one more! Scroll down about half of 3/4 of the way. A guy mounts a hood pin to the underside of the hood. Pretty good Idea. I think I would figure some other way for them to attach to something metal and not the composite headlight panel.

I like those but I wouldn't use them as the only way to hold the hood down. The metal in the lock isn't very strong, it will eventually break and your hood will come up on you.
As a supplemental lock with the stock hood latch, they're good. They'll certainly keep anyone from popping your hood on you.
thats what i plan on doing w/ my harwood... keeping the stock hood latch and run the mr gasket ones

I like the locking ones as I am not a fan of the prongs with wire. One thing is you have to be CAREFUL not to scratch the paint with the pins. The locks just look cleaner.

I've had a set of these for about 2 years now, waiting to install on the 67. Wanted the added security (still using the center latch) plus the ability to keep people from opening my hood (no interior release on a 67).
It's amazing how many people will walk up to a classic car and pop your hood without asking (or without you even being there!).
I figure these locks are a cheap way to keep from going to jail for assault, cuz if I ever caught someone popping my hood I'd probably not be able to restrain myself.I've had a set of these for about 2 years now, waiting to install on the 67. I feel ya on that one. When I had my uncles fast back at a car meet some guy that we didn't know just came up opened my hood and started playing with things. It was hard not to get pissed off at him.

I have the locking ones on my car. I also got them because they looked cleaner than other pins and a little added security
If you know how the cable release is hooked up, you can pop the hood from OUTSIDE our Stangs. I ain't gonna say how I think it can be done, 'cause Google spiders StangNet. No need to let the public know about this secret.
The best hood security IMO is hood locks. No key, no open.

I'm going to get these when I need hood pins. I'm not a big fan of dealing with pins and lanyards with traditional hood pins. And I think traditional ones look a bit out of place on modern cars.

5lb sledge will also unlock the hood if you REALLY want whats under it...

i think out to .5'' then cleaned it up with a dremmel to get the fit right. i forget the size of the rivits. they came with screws but we decided stainless rivets looked so much better
