I have a 68 coupe that I installed the discbrakeswap.com swap 3 kit (floating caliper for 68-69). All went well until I put the rims on. The rim hits the caliper. I used washers to determine that 1/2" is necessary to clear. The rims are stock 14" (I purchased the car in 1984 and never changed rims). I measured the backset on the rims and they are 3.75" from the inside of the wheel. I spoke to Dennis at CSRP and he said I must not have original rims because they should fit.

I want to use original rims and hubcaps. Is there a 14" 5x4.5 rim with less backset (say 3.0 or 3.25 ) that I can use?
I assume I could use a spacer and grind some of the caliper off, but that doesn't really appeal to me.

I have spent a week off and on looking for answers and just found this forum. It seems there is a large volume of knowledge here so I am counting on all of you. :hail2:

Thanks

Picture of Rim

Here is a picture of the rim. I suppose the rims could be from 1967 because the car was made in september of 1967.

Thanks
