New wheels for the Notchback. Something youve never seen(56k...who even uses 56K?)

That's exactly what I thought when I opened the thread. "He's running steelies?" Personally, I think it looks like it's got really dirty wheels on it, but it's not my car so I'm glad you like it.
Im liking it, ive had draglites on the car for the last 5 years and they were just plain played out to me, in the one week ive had these dirty looking wheels on ive gotten more looks and compliments than i have all summer. to me it really cleaned up the look of the car, and its not so flashy anymore
Take the car out right before sunset, that would be the best time to photograph it with those wheels. Looks like all those day shots are right about noon, which is why the wheels are hidden in shadows. Outdoor light right before sunset is the best time to photograph pretty much any car. I bet the car looks sick in person.
agreed, they are hard to photograph, combined with the fact that my camera is not that good

Overall, your car looks really mean, though. I just think if you're going to have an all-black wheel it doesn't really matter what kind of wheel it is. They all look the same unless the car is sitting still and you're within 10 ft of the car...

you could say the same thing about a chrome wheel though.

If I see a chrome 5 spoke wheel from 100 yards away, I'll know it's a chrome 5 spoke wheel. I'd be able to tell the difference between a chrome 5 spoke wheel and a chrome 93 Cobra wheel...for example.
If the same wheels were both black I would have to be much closer to identify what kind of wheels they are. A black painted 10 hole rim wouldn't look much different from a black 93 cobra rim. The only thing that might tip me off that it's a 5 spoke would be if I could see the calipers/rotors...
That's the only time I really like all black wheels - when there's a huge rotor and 4 piston calipers behind them.
Just my personal preference, man. Don't worry about what I think.
I'm not worried about what you think, i know everyones got thier opinions, but i disagree with that your saying, your telling me that from 100 yards(which is a football field) you could tell the difference from a cobra r wheel and a 93 cobra wheel... I could see the difference if i was right next to the person, but then again if i was within 20 feet of a black cobra r, and a black 10 hole i could tell the difference too.
Even on lightnings, i have seen them with a stock 03 chrome wheel and a stock 20" harley davidson wheel. unless your up close you cant tell the difference when the truck is moving, and those two wheels have a completly different look from one to the other

Your wheels (and entire car for that matter) are badass, period. Half the guys in this thread who are talking **** are probably rocking dirty curb rashed turbines.

i agree the pics makes them harder to see but the up-close shots are sex, how did you paint them, are you worried about them oxidizing from brake dust, sun etc
I was talking about when they're sitting still. It's pretty hard to tell what any wheel is - other than color and size - while the car's moving...
edit: Ok, I see we were probably just focusing on different parts of what I said....I was referring to the distance thing, you were referring to the sitting still thing...no big deal.
It's not like this is something I need to prove. Just scroll up and look at your own pics - You can't even tell what they are except in the extreme close-ups. In some of the pics you can't even distinguish where the wheel ends and tire begins.....
Once again - I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, if that's the look you're going for. I like the way your car looks. I'd just like it more if the wheels had a machined lip or something to make them stand out a little more.

hows the turbo kit coming? you made the right choice over a blowerthey are powedercoated, i'm not worried at all about the finish, the owner of the shop told me that any problems, he would re-coat them for free. After seeing david frieburgers F-bomb camaro in hot rod i wanted to anodize the wheels, but after talking with billet specialties they told me that powdercoating would be cheaper and better in the long run.

I thought about doing that to my draglites also, didnt know how it would look, but i saw a car at the track recently with black chrome draglites, and i thought they looked alright. I got a hell of a deal on these wheels and i couldnt pass it up. I have $1150 into the rims, which includes a set of 26x10.5 ET streets that came with them
