New BBK DSI intake 4.6 2V

yes the stock PI instake isn't bad, but look at the low end improvements from a Bullit manifold. we're talking abouta 25ft/lbs increase down low as well as a few peak hp. now on a F/I car, you can gain as much as 40rwhp with a Bullit intake. so there is significant power to be had from a good aftermarket intake for any 2V. as far as blowing up, metal intakes don't blow up into shards like plastic intakes. they usually just blow a hole or pop a gasket. and metal intakes are much harder to blow.

That, and you can't port and polish a plastic intake. That BBK says it has some meat on it for porting and polishing, which helps if you plan on port-matching it to some aftermarket heads.

I think it's an excellent idea - they definitely sunk a lot of engineering and MONEY into this project. I doubt the final product would come to market if it's going to add 5hp. Also, if you can add horsepower and torque in the low end, then I would consider it to be well worth the $1000.00. Includes fuel rail kit, etc. With nitrous, this would be a PERFECT set up. You have the long runners to boost you a bit in the low end and then have the long and shorts open to provide extra flow with the nitrous at, say 3000RPM. This, to me, looks like an excellent product.

This was in the 96-04 Modular magazine (special edition from the makers of 5.0), as one of the highlighted products in the first few pages. I hope they're not just ****ing with us still, I'm sure it's not cheap to get your product highlighted in one of those magazines.
