HobieDude16's *OFFICIAL* 2009 NCAA Football Thread

I could care less about the crying. Here's my post on another forum about all this:

Hah, so many people hate Tebow cause they wish they were him, or wish he played for their team. You certainly would have a different opinion if he was on your side. Someone with that passion and love for the game is a true treasure, and he is going to go down as one of the (if not THE) best college football players of all time. He is a great role model, and a great person, not to mention one hell of a football player. I have no complaints, even with the loss. We will miss Tim Tebow, but our future is still bright....

As for "Gators have no future now haha." See below:

With Brantley (who is a freaking beast on passing), and our running backs at full steam (Moody for most of our running to take the place of Tebow, then we have Demps and Rainey for the sideline sweeps), I have a feeling we'll have an offense on fire next year. Our defense will be hurting, due to losing Haden, Spikes, Dunlap (though we didn't have him tonight), and all the others that will be gone, but we will still have a fairly good defense.....

All that said, we got our arses handed to us tonight. There is no excuse for what happened to Florida. Bama did NOT play like the Bama we've seen, and Florida did NOT play like the Florida we've seen. That all worked in Bama's favor, and major props to them. They played the perfect game, and defeated us soundly. For that, I give major props, and hope they can keep it up for at least one more game....

Now, I hope UF can beat Cincinatti!

Gator fan doesn't understand what the rest of the nation feels. We don't hate Tim. Obviously there are haters for the reasons you mentioned, but overall, the rest of us are just tired of the big dick suck that ESPN does every week. 4 years is too much. Usually with college ball, a guy gets 1 year, maybe 2, of true national attention and top of the broadcast priority from ESPN. We are tired of TTPN (Tim Tebow Publicity Network) and want ESPN back.

No, I do understand that. And, frankly, I agree. The networks have talked way too much about him, but that's not his fault. He wasn't really talked about his freshman year (I mean, sure, he was talked about some, but not the center of attention). But yeah, from there on out, it's been a lovefest.

He will certainly be missed, though.

And that's why I don't hate him. From all that we've been told and have seen, he is a good dude that brings a winning attitude to the field which I love, but I am more than ready for the next guy to take his place. We almost had him up here, but he didn't make the leap forward this year like we expected. I am holding out hope he will do it this off-season and you'll have to deal with it for 2 years! :D

I just want to officially declare that there are too many f'ing BOWL GAMES.

I looked at the listing last night and counted. There are 34 bowl games including the national title game.

WVU won the right to go to the Gator Bowl with two big wins late in the season, and who do we get to play? Florida State, who is 6-6, because Bobby Bowden is retiring after this year :nonono:

And there are a couple bowls with 6-6 teams facing off against each other. Come on.

All I can say after the bowl selections is this, Bama getting owned last year in the Sugar Bowl by Utah is the sole reason that TCU and Boise have to play each other:mad:

The "Big Boys" are terrified of two top 10 BCS teams losing to non-aq teams, hence the shaft that is his years Fiesta bowl:notnice:

Florida and Cincy fans rejoice, at least when one of you loses, it won't be to a team from the lowly Mountain West.

Alright BCS kool-aid drinkers, dare to tell me I'm wrong:nonono:

I think we (FSU) will give yall a good game. Don't judge us just based on our record alone. I think our guys will be trying their best to win to send Bowden off on some kind of good note. I think it will definitely be a high scoring game. But we'll see.

Health reasons...says he doesn't have any heart trouble but Im betting it is anxiety attacks from the symptoms he has. My oldest daughter used to have them all the time and it was exactly what they described Meyer has.

The Mountain West Conf. is making a great case for getting an auto bid in 2012. BYU dominates Oregon St. 44-20, Utah beats up on Cal 37-27, Air Forcse completely destroys Houston 47-20 (forcing 6 INT's) and even lowly Wyoming beats Fresno St. in 2 OT. So far they are 4-0 in bowls, and only need TCU (Who should be in the NC game) to beat Boise to go 5-0 in bowls.......
