Throw Out Bearing?

Hope its not the pilot pain in the butt. Well we are going to do the clutch right there as well then. Yea and my sister has/had a GTO 04' but it was in a wreck, still waiting to hear from the insurance company. My dad has the 7-up stang and mine the notch and stepbrother a notch as well. She is actually my stepmom. Thanks for the help!

Damn, you got a cool family. I got a bunch of SUVs in my family.

Is there anyway you can identify this whining noise? I'm about to replace my tob but have a little "errr" sound upon take offs.

Oh yea, really horrible whine noise going from the shifter area. You will know, it's not a normal noise at all.

Thanks man, I love my family.

Mine would squeek and whine at idle if you didn't
have your foot on the clutch pedal. My TOB failed
at 60K miles.I replaced my TOB,pilot bearing,and new
Centerforce clutch at the same time.It is probably your
TOB or pilot bearing that is bad and needs replacing.

About to pull my tranny out for a whining in first, second and it goes away in third. Was told it was the input shaft bearing or front bearing but I don't know. Tob and pilot bearing were replaced 1000 miles ago upon new engine. This stupid car is a money pitt.....

Well I went to do replace everything. Couldn't get the top left bolt out. So my stepmom drove in another week and the night before we were going to take it to the shop my idiot stepbrother took the car out and froze the TOB to the input shaft. He came home left the top down and didn't tell anyone that anything happened until we asked why everything was soaked and why the nosie was worse. All in all it was $400 for all the labor to replace the TOB, pilot bearing, clutch and have the old TOB cut off the input shaft and have the flywheel replaced. Not to bad, just wish I could have gotten that one bolt out.

I think that $400 is a great price for all you had done hell the flywheel part alone can cost that. are you sure they replaced the flywheel and did not just resurface it?

Also, never ever allow the top to be left down. The resting position of the top is in the up position keep it down only as necessary. Please smack your brother for Mustang owners everywhere.

All ready did.:nice: But I don't remember what I said but the flywheel was resurfaced. We bought the clutch and $400 was the labor including having the flywheel resurfaced. Sorry for an confusion.
