3.73 Gears. Too much?

That's what i'm sayin. If i had money to burn i'd have a custom T56 built with a crazy highway ratio for 6th and i'd put 4.30s in.

Your 98 is a mod engine though. Its a different animal when it comes to gears then the 5.0

prob to much MPH to go 11's with 410's.... but you only really need 110-113 to go 11's
Its not as bad as you would think, in 5th, its only 300 rpms at 65mph.

Exactly my point. Different motors/trans/tires will respond differently to gears. For example my friends fox went 10.06 on 4.10s
it's hard to make the arguement that you can go faster with 3.73s (he then went 9.9x with 4.30s)

I too have 3.55's but I think with my setup its perfect. Power adder and trap speeds of around 116-118 I personally couldnt drive the 3.73's or higher. I think the higher ratio you go the better your skill needs to be and quite frankly I dont want to spend the track time to perfect it.

Going 3.55's in mine as well. My last car i had 3.73's and i felt like it would scream on the highway. I built my current car as more of a cruiser with long highway trips in mind. Hopefully the 3.55's would be a better suite

Which exhaust is the best?
2 to 2-1/4 stepped headers into a 4-1 4" collector running a burns stainless header muffler running turns outs

yes... but you will need a metric adjustable to get them in...
btw if you guys think 373's are to much you would never want to drive my car. im REALLY thinking i should throw some 430's in mine with a 28inch tire.

LOL I just have a hard time controlling the traction unless the tires are all heated up and a steeper set of gears would make that all the more challenging. I could get it down as I have with all other combos, just too much money.. Im already $1,000 into my rearend alone

have QA1's with 14-175s up front doing a full UPR rear with strange shocks... havent made my mind up on springs yet. need to make a pass with the bottle to see what kinda MPH i'll be making and where im at before i make the leap for 4.30's. even though i can build the rear id rather not have to keep swapping gears till i get it right
