Tools Needed for 5.0 Brake Job!

Hi, I have never changed brakes on a 5.0 Fox. I have basic tools what will I need to complete the job? Sorry dumb question I know but I hate starting something to find out I gota run and get a socket or torq head socket(Been there). I am just changing the pads and rotors chances are factory ones from 1989

Beyond the torx bit for the caliper mount bolts, you will need a BIG C clamp from Home Depot or Lowes to compress the caliper piston prior to installing the pads. I usually do that before taking the caliper mount bolts out. Wrap a rag around the master cylinder filler to catch any fluid that overflows when you compress the caliper piston.

A brake-piston retracting tool is cheap and reduces the chance of damaging the caliper.

You might want some anti-seize grease and threadlock. You might also need new caliper slide pins.

Been a while since i had stock brakes, but i definetely do not remember needing a torx bit. Isn't the inside of the bolt a torx and the outside (of the same bolt) a standard socket?

You are correct. A common socket will work on the caliper slide bolts.
