Its not really a bargain when you have to pay 40k for the car first. :notnice:

You're right....maybe they should just throw one in when you buy they car?

Hey, I miss .50 can's of pop too, but this isn't 1987 anymore and you can't get a Mustang for under $20k....hell, you can't even get a well equipped econobox for under $20k anymore.

I'm not going to pretend like $40k isn’t a lot of money, but the 2011 is a lot of car. Twice the car it was the last generation and three times the car it was before that. I remember 20-years ago when a 300hp N/A Mustang that stopped and handled was all but a wet dream to most owners and now the base V6 model makes more than that. I also remember when iron GT40 heads cost upwards of $2,000 and now are all but snubbed by anyone looking to make any sort of serious power. That's how aftermarket parts always start out and eventually come down in price. It was that way for the 5.0L OHV, that way for the last generation OHC engines and will eventually be that way for the new Coyote engine.

In any case....525-warranted-horsepower in a lowly GT model with little more than a blower and ECU calibration, that can be driven right off the showroom floor up till now has been all but a dream and it is now finally a reality. Is it pricey...sure, but so is trying to duplicate the parts and power levels in an older model....and doing that still leaves you without warranty and no new car smell.

so 47k for an 11 GT with 525hp? Man thats higher than 07-09 GT500 territory, i'd rather have one of those.

the lowest ive seen one on a lot was for 32,5 and the only option i could find on it was auto trans, i did see a vert for 48k so im guessing that 40 would be a median price.

You dont keep the factory warrantee with that kit, it comes with a 12 month/12,000 mile warrantee, which i would guess is just on the blower itself, not the motor, transmission, or rearend.

I love reading articles like that "ford warrantees it if they install it."

I read that i dont know how many times when i was looking into tuners for my 6.0 diesel, guys said if you bought a banks kit from ford and they installed it then they would warrantee it. Well when i went to my local ford dealer they told me that if something happened they would fix it but usually when a major breakage occurs(rods, head gasket, etc), that theres a good chance a ford rep from michigan comes to inspect the truck and see why things broke, and if he sees performance parts your hosed

iv been seeing people posting getting there gts for 29k where did this 40k come from? I mean 40k must be everything you can get in the car plus conv with a sun roof!

Posting the actual cost doesn't help their argument any. It's easier to chastise the car when you quote MSRP + inflated dealer mark up. ;)

That being said....$38-$40K for an '11 GT with 525 factory warranted horsepower.......bargain!!!

Dont you mean overpriced(IF they went for that kinda cash), for that Money you can easily get a new 07-09 GT500. And sure why wouldnt we put dealer mark up on them. All the dealers are why wouldnt we comment on that

My dad heard about the new 5.0 and went to look at them, they werent even partially willing to deal on the price, in their words "we'll sell it tomorrow with or without you"
So yeah 40k, heres another

Where do you live that an '07-'09 GT 500 is considered a new car?

And the car in your link is priced at $35,185 (unless of course you believe someone snuck in and changed the link on you.....again ;) ). Consider its a loaded Premium model and sold out of California of all places, I'd say that's about right. A lesser equipped model sold elseware could be had for right around $29-$31K, plus the blower and instal

The '11 GT500 sells for a solid $18K more than the GT, so even after you add the cost of the blower and instal, you're still talking a difference of nearly $10K. That's a fair size chunk of change. Like I said.....$38-$40K for an '11 GT with 525 factory warranted, supercharged horsepower.......bargain!!!

The only pain I would really feel picking up that kind of car would be the thought of removing that sexy new "eye candy" of an intake.

The dude in that post you linked to said the sticker was 33,7 for his car. when i said that the lowest ive seen is in the 32,5 range that was the sticker price not some internet special. all you did was back up what i said.
like i said, even if the car was a base priced car, round it to 30k, the super charger kit is, what, 7200 for the 525hp one, install is going to run ya alot more than 700 bucks for the dealer to do it. thats if you can find a base price car and like i also said the cheapest ive seen on a lot, not the internet, is 32,5 with damn near no options. hell, where i live theres over 300 bucks in taxes on that thing, pushing the base blower to over 7500 bucks before install.
What does the 12/12 warranty cover? is it just the supercharger components or is the warranty on the engine changed to a 12/12.

And i count new, being a car that was never sold and has not been driven yet new, how do you look at it?

I thought we were talking about what you could buy the car for, not what the sticker price was? the fact remains, he picked it up for $29k. If you're willing to pay MSRP and dealer mark up for a new car, that's your deal, but I never would and I don't know of anyone else who would either. Getting the first ones off the lot when very few dealers had them because you want to be the first guy on your block is going to cost you no matter what you buy, but now that every dealership has them and is offering incentives, nobody pays those prices...at least nobody with any bargaining sense?

So let’s say it was $30k base for argument sake and he pays $7,199 for the blower and another $1,000 for install. That's still under $39k for 525hp and full factory warranty and still a hell of a deal. Especially when the GT500's START at $50k....then you wanna see dealer mark up. :(

As for the warranty...its my understanding that the 12/12,000 is for the blower itself (the same as the warranty offered for the last Roush kits). The official press release states that you maintain your factory powertrain warranty when dealer installed.
Best of all, you can retain your warrantee if installed by a dealer...
And since this is the deal Ford offered with their last Ford Racing blower packages for the 3V Mustangs, I don't know why we should think it would be any different now with the new power plant?

Geee....you just pick the first expensive car you see, don't you (interesting that when I looked that $40K was the most expensive one I found)? The dealership you buy your first new car from is going to love you. :rlaugh:

I prefer to spend more than 5-seconds on an internet search when I'm about to drop $30K on a car and look for ones like these.

...need I go on, or will you actually concede that there are deals out there to be had and not everyone pays $40K for their 2011 Mustang GT?

Oh and these were randomly picked, from across the US just so you don't think I'm purposley being bias and picking them all from high priced dealerships, in a state known for selling cars at a huge mark up or anything. ;)

And i count new, being a car that was never sold and has not been driven yet new, how do you look at it?
How do I look at it? Well, I certainly don't use a dealer marked down car that's been sitting on a lot for 3-5 years that dealerships have to practically give away to sell to make room for current stock as my example and compare it to a car that's not 3-months into its first year of production and call it "Even Steven".

I mean really....if you want to play that game, why not compare the price difference of an old stock '07-'09 GT still sitting on the lot to an '07-'09 GT500? Or better still, let’s wait 3-5 years to see what an old stock Mustang GT sells for (if there even are any) when they're trying to make room for the 2013-2015 models and then revisit this thread?

C'mon man....tell me you weren't serious when you made that comparison?

Dude all those cars are DAYS away, not hours, minimum 5 day drive for each. If you were compentent enough to look at my search criteria( which im sure you didnt) you'd see ever dealer i showed you in my area ALL were listed at 35 and change or 40 and change. So my statement stands, come down here and look around the lots and you'll see zero 2011 GT's for 29k.
So since im sure you dont want to tire out your fingers here you go

Who cares how far they are away from YOU?!?!? You're the one who jumped on the blanketed statement that a person couldn't own one for less than $40K. I was able to pick half dozen out of hundreds of the listed that proved your statement incorrect...by a good $10K none the less!

And thanks for "giving my fingers a break" but you've already made it clear to me that you're not the most savvy of bargain hunters on the site, so I'll conduct a little search of my own....

So....with about 10-minutes worth of searching I've found nearly a dozen (and there were more) brand new, 2011 Mustang GT Coupes in the $28-$32K range from over half a dozen local dealerships. And these were just the ones within 100-miles of you. Most of which you noticed were within 40-miles of you. So unless you're driving a bicycle with two flat tires, you're bound to get there long before the 5-day mark. ;)

That's sticker, advertised price, without any dickering or dealing. If a person couldn't knock at least one of the half dozen dealerships that I posted down into the $29K range, then they quite frankly don’t deserve to own a new Mustang. :notnice:

Why the **** would i argue anymore, you've obviously been down here in CA and walked around all these dealers that you've posted and looked at the cars. Oh and i got news for you, each one of those dealers are over 40 miles away from me, but nice try on the mileage away. Come down here and walk the dealers that "say" they have them at that price and when you show up at the lot say "well we only had one" "its gone" "you only get that price with a trade in" cause we've heard it. And the cars you listed didnt have auto trans, so at least give an accurate comparison for what i posted. But thanks for posting cars that are NOT in my area, unless you think 2 hours away is my area, in that case, vegas is my area, gotta be, but now i say **** this, im ****ing done arguing with you about the coyote in the FOX section, AGAIN, have a nice day.

Sigh.....how did I know you would find something else to bellyache about?

The distance away was based on the 91722 zip code that YOU posted in YOUR search criteria.

The mileage each of these dealerships is located from said zip code is posted at the top of each listing, in the publication that YOU chose to use for your search method, so feel free to spare the messenger and focus on the method if you’re looking to lay blame.

...do with this information what you will. My point has been made. Yes, you could walk away with a full boat, bells and whistles loaded GT + dealer mark up for $40, but the fact remains that the option of buying a 2011 Mustang GT for the $30K and under mark does readily exist, and does so nationwide. With this information at hand, we also know that this means a high-20, or low 30-something thousand dollar Mustang GT’s can have the Ford Racing Supercharge kit installed at a dealer and driven off the lot with 525 warranted horsepower and still come up on the south side of $40K.....which when you consider GT500`s start $10K higher than that.....is in fact a great deal for what you`re getting now a days.

This was my point all along, which I`ve never deviated from, just in case it`s been lost in translation through all of the above mess.

With regards to you and your response to my posts go, as far as I`m concerned you're nothing but a child throwing a tantrum that refuses to listen to logic. If you don’t wish to debate, or in your case argue the points, then by all means mind your own business and don’t bother address any of my post(s) in the future. Simple solution. :)

For those of you that think that is a bargain…I'd like to have some of what you're smoking! $6500 freaking dollars…are you kidding me? Let's not forget folks that you will likely be able to buy a brand spanking new 5.0 Coyote engine for that price. Do you really still think that's a deal….really? Or, consider the cost associated with high end turbo kits which for the 2010 (I know, not an 11 but will likely be close) are in the $4500 range (Hellion). A deal? Really? As for the warranty…do they really say what it's really doing? Is the 12month warranty only on the supercharger, or is it on the whole engine? If on the whole engine, does it negate the factory's standard 5 year/60k mile warranty?

The warrantee isnt on the engine, if you put a supercharger on the car i dont care who installs it, ford's gonna give you the runaround when you throw a rod or burn a piston up.

Nowhere in that article does it say the factory warrantee is retained, it says the supercharger is warranteed for a year. And even if it was the whole driveline thats warranteed, its only for a year....

Thats right just a child throwing a tantrum. Better than being a self diluted mod who HAS to be right and HAS to force his opinions on other until you agree or are labled an idiot or a child when they wont agree. Its people like you that make me want to go buy anything other than a ford just cause i want to in no way have anything in common with you. I'd like to see the people on the other side of the ring that call me "just a child"
