92 LX 5.0 what items to change to prevent becoming stranded?

Send the ECU to ECUEXCHANGE. Install motorcraft plug wires, spark plugs, and distributor cap. Change the serpentine belt yourself (it’s a 5 minute job). Carry a new TFI (and tool), and a new IAC (and tool).

I carry a small tool kit in the back if I’m taking a trip.

Get AAA with at least 50 miles of towing (I upgraded it to 100 miles).

And you’ll never do enough to prevent being stranded, it’s a 33 year old car .

Thanks! Appreciate the input! I'm going to work my way through that list shortly.
