Torsion bars questions

Hey guys! (and gals...)

I want to buy new torsion bars for my '87 Mustang, and maybe something to eliminate wheel hop (depending on the price)...any recommendations?

My car has 400HP, T-5 trans, locked diff...the classic set-up, if there is any.

It is used for street and strip.

If the quad shocks were removed....put them back on.


If they are still there, replace them with fresh ones.

On your rear end, you have two shocks. The vertical one is the normal shock, and the horizontal shock is the quad shocks which helps control wheel hop

The Monroe's are terrible. They're basically a trailer shock or something that happens to fit, not a unit designed to do the unique job the factory required, and they straight-up don't work. Been there done that. Gabriel 14039 is available cheap at Amazon of all places and they do work.

Sounds like an anti roll bar. It basically removes the limited ability of the rear to articulate in the horizontal plane in relationship to the frame of the car. In other words the car won't lean over. It's great for drag racing, awful for the street.

where the heck can u get the bracket that the shock bolts to on the frame mine is missing and cant find the bracket for them !!! :X
