I'm going to buy a radiator for my 66 with a 408. I want a stock looking radiator and have found 3 rows at Auto Zone and Advance Auto for $132.99. I'm willing to spend more money if needed. Is this going to be enough radiator for a 408 or should I look elsewhere for a 4 row? I definitely don't want this engine to run hot 'cause I have a lot of money tied up in it.

A good 3 row should work just fine, just make sure it has the proper shroud and fan. Do run a stock style fan or an electric?

If you were not stuck on a stock look Id put a double pass unit in it from Ron Davis.....

I'll be running a stock style fan on it. I don't know anything about the double pass unit but I'll sure check on it.

I fixed my quote it should have said if you WERE NOT stuck on a stock look. However those guys still might be worth a phone call, I use them for custom unit at my shop all the time, top notch quality and advice. With a double pass unit the radiator is basically split in two sections, so the fluid spends more time in the radiator giving it and th efan more time to pull the heat out. This is a god send for me on large power adder street cars, especially turbo cars or healthy NA set-ups where I am cramped for room.

Thanks for your posts Rick. I looked at the Ron Davis site and couldn't find any prices. I did however find a coupon for 40% off on Advance Auto Store online purchases over $100.00 that is good until the 15th of this month. I did a search of Advance Auto Parts coupons and found several codes that could be used.

I went ahead and ordered it and the cost taxes and all was $98.?? which I thought was a great deal. I have to pick it up at a store though. If it doesn't satisfy my needs then my son needs one for his car. His has a 260 so it should be plenty good for him.
