Here is a boring thread by me.

Pulled these off:

Looked like this underneath:

So I cleaned the timing cover up (forgot to take a pic).

Put these on:

I plan to put a blower on this car someday, so the U/D's would have to go anyhow. Couldn't get a regular sized pulley for the alt, but the belt seemed to fit fine anyhow. Also made some makeshift baffles for where I *think* the headers are leaking. Hopefully it works, the noise drives me nuts.

What does the noise sound like?

Like an exhaust leak. The long tubes despite being coated are really rusty. It intensity of the noise changes (louder/softer) depending on how much of a load the engine is seeing.

I thought I had an exhaust leak up near the manifolds. Put new longtubes and gaskets on and I still hear it so i dont think its a leaking. I think a leak would be a little louder. I just hear a whizzing sound when driving by other cars/buildings when it has something to echo off of.

Mine is def an exhaust leak, I had it up on me Dad's lift and it was pretty obvious. In other news, I just finished the oil change, fired it up and I can still hear it. So I guess it wasn't the slip joints on the primaries.

did you install the Dorman crank pulley?

It might be a Dorman, it came off a 96-98 Cobra that I bought used with the WP pulley. It says china on the back with a bunch of numbers. Looks nearly new though.

Yeah, i bet thats the dorman one. Look brand new!!!

BTW, I like the ARP Crank bolt :-)

Yeah I didn't want to reuse the tty bolt, but it had some grade 5 bolt on it. Since now I can take the car above 5K without as much worry, I pushed it a little harder then usual. 6K in 4th = giggty. :D
