im back and lookin at 4 diff motor swaps

okay so im looking at buying a 99-04 v-6 and im going to swap the motor and all that mess. im looking at a few different platforms 3 to be exact. but i been away from mustangs for a few years i used to have an 02 gt 4.6 with some bolt ons now im a little older with a little more cash and heres what im thinking oh yeah im going to turbo whatever i build

now im very familiar with the small blocks and i was just wondering whats it take to swap these into this model mustang while still keeping the power windows and lights and all that

now to modular options

4.6 its been a while but how much hp can u get a out of a 2v i was thinin of just doing a 4.6 4v but might as well buy a cobra i want something different and i know all gt's come with the 4.6 2v but i just wanted to know how much power they can hold

5.4 4v out of navi how much hp and whats it take for this swap

at the end of the day buying a car with a v8 is soo much cheaper and easier that these swaps never actually happen

I think you should just buy a V8 car and build it up. Building a V6 car into a reliable V8 beast is a PITA in my books.

V6 is going to be a PITA to swap and it'll always have the value of a V6...

You could always do a V6 and build that. Turbo etc etc etc

These cars are so cheap now, you'd be stupid to start with a V6. Complete waste of time and money.

ya just get a gt turbo it with some trickflow heads and a built bottom end then hold on for dear life and install a panick button.

The block can probably take as much power as you can feed it. Modular blocks are tough.

Most places recommend upgrading at around 400 rwhp - 450 rwhp. That's the typical range I've seen anyway.

Yeah, the internals should be replaced at that point, but the block itself is strong. He wasn't real clear on which he meant.

ebay, craigslist, auto trader.com.. if i woulda done everything over again, i would of started out with an 03/04 cobra or mach 1.

What are your goals?

If those were my options id pick the 5.4 4v with a sullivan intake. it's got potential to be fast with better driveability than a 351 or other cammed motor. i'd start with a 4.6 so it's more of a direct swap and you have the 8.8 rear end.
