well my car has a tape deck lol, and a cd player works fine for me. When you go to HMV or a store like that you buy the artists Cds, so wouldnt you want a cd player?
Dude, I haven't bought a CD in about 10-years.
CD's are cumbersome, have limited space, are always littered all over the floor of my vehicles and as a result, scratch very easily turning them into coasters.
MP3/MP3 players are where it's at. CD quality, nearly infinit storage capacity, no physical storage space required and they never wear out. I just plug my iPod, or iPhone into the jack on my Alpine head unit and listen to/watch whatever music, book, podcast, movie, etc I want at the push of a button. If I'm sick of what's on it, I just erase it and load something else.
And with hands free cell phone usage quickly becoming mandatory across North America, that SYNC system comes in mighty handy.
I'm not saying it's for everybody....but you should at least have the option to get it when you buy the car. Using the excuse that the Boss is a "serious race car" for not having one doesn't exactly fly. Especially when like I said earlier, said serious race car comes with power windows, doors, mirrors and A/C. Not exactly a bare essentials racer with those as standard features.
