So here is 2 ad's for said vortech supercharger setups.. which one sounds like the better deal? Kinda thinking I may pick 1 up and slowly add to the car with the fuel and tune money so it won't be going on right away, but this obviously is the expensive part:

Vortech Supercharger V-1 S-trim 99-04 with 31x4x12 air to air intercooler and supposedly 10K miles on it. Seller wants 2K OBO

mustang vortec v-2 sq trim with air to air intercooler. 10K on unit AFTER rebuild. Seller wants 2300 OBO

What are the pro's and con's of both setups? My car will be in the sig but its just a bolt on GT right now. I know I will need upgraded fuel pump, injecters, different maf but are their any other pieces I will need to go with these?

Which would be the 'best' route? I may want to expand it down the road but for now it will for sure be on a stock block unless something goes crazy soon. Any info on these setups as well would be great. I somewhat know the basics of vortech stuff but I'm still at a loss with their trim levels and power levels with said trim.

What would you like to achieve. Both kits can produce enough power to destroy your bottom end. The first choice will be louder at idle, while the second will be very quiet. Both will produce the same power. Make sure neither of these were on a '99 GT, as the 00-04's had a different mounting bracket. Also, replace any idler pullies, I just had one fail and catch fire in my engine compartment..not fun.

Obviously you will need a SVT Focus, Twin Cobra's or Aviator/GT pump to get your fuel to the injectors you need to produce around 400rwhp, so I'd go with 42's at a minimum, maybe 60's if you can. Also, need a minimum of a Lightning MAF as well.

Or the Ford GT one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/255LPH-GT-S...l:SVT|Model:Focus&hash=item4aa7f07c38&vxp=mtr

Just get the fuel system done right, no BAP with the stock pump, just install everything and use new parts. Replace anything and everything while your up under the car, fuel filter and filler neck grommet etc. Also I'd consider a new oil pan if you are reluctant to tap yours.

When your done get ready to have a really fun car tho man!

What I would like to achieve is just a faster car.. The bolt on's arnt cutting it anymore. I'm in the mood for more power and soon will have a better paying position to support said power. The mustang probably should not be the priority build or whatnot since I have an option most people don't have where the car is free but the build I'd want would blow way out of that budget quickly. In the same breath I'd consider picking up a Cobra as well seeing as the resale of mine is gonna be poo or basically is that no matter what mods you throw at it.

Both were on 02's I believe so that would not be an issue. If I did go this route I would make sure that I only upgraded the fuel system once unless something broke..

What type of power levels for each are we talking? I have heard the V1 sound and while I love it I'm not sure it would be all that great for a DD.

V1/V2/V3 - refers to the blower housings and design. V1's implement straight-cut gears and is very loud (which I personally love). V2's and V3's use helical-cut gears which significantly cut down the noise levels. Both V1's and V2's require oil feed/drain line while the V3's are self-contained. There isn't a performance difference between the 3 blowers, it's the trims that determine that.

Trims - refers to the impellers used. S-trim is one of Vortechs older designs and isn't as efficient as some of their newer versions (ie. Si-Trim, SCi-trim, T-trim, etc.) In fact, many S-trim owners have sent their blowers to Vortech to have the impellers swapped out for an Si-trim. S-trims are still good blowers, they just aren't as efficient as an Si-trim.

BTW, there's there's no such thing as an "SQ-trim". SQ stands for "super quiet" and refers to Vortech's quieter line of blowers (V2's and V3's).

I did search on Vortech's site and I was wondering about the SQ trim.. All in all they both seem like comprable units and I will have to tap the oil pan for either install.. I do know that I don't want the kits from AM and whatnot as some of the stuff is useless to me such as their tuning but the fuel upgrades would be nice. The thing that intrigues me is these would be intercooled setups. I love the V1's sound too I just wonder how it would perform in a daily driving senerio on I35 traffic and an hours drive 1 way.

Just stay out of boost and you won't even know it's there.
They both have air-to-air intercoolers, but I wasn't aware that Vortech made an a2a IC for those years. I guess its some aftermarket one.

You're right, Vortech doesn't make an A2A IC system. I'd be curious to see what intercooler systems they're running and if it has been done correctly.

I'm trying to get more specific info on the setups but at the moment I am leaning towards the V1 setup. If I'm gonna have to tap the oil pan its gonna sound like a blower! What are some more opinions out there? How much would a rebuild be for peace of mind?

I think last time I checked Vortech was getting around $350 for a rebuild, which included seals and bearings. If the impeller was damaged or the housing, then they're just going to make you buy a new one, accepting the old one as a trade in. Not sure about prices on that.

I'm running 60lb injectors, SCT 90mm lightning MAF, 255lph in tank & the 255lph vortech in-line trex, accufab tb, anderson power pipe. Plus its been fully tuned. It'll peak around 11lbs boost if it's cooler out, like the fall months.

My V1 is ridiculously loud! I like the whistle but the chatter of the gears is not exactly the best. Mine is actually rubbing the housing so Im looking to upgrade to a v7, v2 or a t trim.

Depending on how you are going to tap the oil pan you might look into a aftermarket pan. I have the moroso 7 quart pan and it has fittings in the front and back for oil returns. Also the supercharger holds about .5 quart of oil so you have to factor that in as well.

If you are going to buy a head unit that is not specifically for your car I say just pay up the money and buy a full kit for the install of the unit. I tried to piece together everything using the parts list from Vortech when I installed mine...needless to say it was the biggest pain in the a** EVER.

You will def want to do the fuel upgrades brought up by others. Injectors, fuel pump, and MAF. There are a couple different options on getting one rebuilt, you could send it back to vortech or try something like 928 Motorsport who also have a great reputation.

Inter cooling is pretty straight forward. I have been doing a lot of research on it because when I swap the blower im going to put on an air2air too. The things you need to worry about is the IC itself and the blow off valves. Everything else is just hardware. Im going to get a nice cooler and BOVs then just get a universal piping kit off ebay.
