88 Fox Body 5.0 Suspension Not Matching Spindel

Front strut on my 88 5.0 doesn't match up to the spindle..... The spindel is 1 in wide and the replacement strut is 3/4 in. W flange.. Does anyone know anything about this problem...?...

Sounds like you have the wrong struts.

They said at summit that it's factory specs and that my spindel might be aftermarket..... Lame as ! I just ordered some from advance.... But the ones that don't fit were adjustable kyb... I'm really disappointed

Been a while since I seen a speed density motor!!! And I got an '88, I bet you got the red interior? Is that factory red?

The earlier Fox spindles are 1" wide and the '87-up are 3/4" wide.

What diameter are your front rotors?
10" or 11"

What's the part number for the KYB struts? Do you have a better picture of the whole spindle?

That explains why the struts I bought years back had extra adapter plates.

I should add that the '87-up 4 cylinder spindles are the same as the early Fox 1'' spindles.

So either your car was originally a 4 cylinder car that was converted to a GT or someone swapped in the earlier Fox/4 cyl spindles and brakes at some point.Not sure why this would've been done other than that's what they had lying around.

Is the 8th number in the VIN an "A" or an "E" ?
