What Was Your First Car And How Much Did You Pay For It???

I like the lines of that body style. Looks straight. What x What you have powering it?
It has a J code 302 from a 68 Mustang, fairly built ,T5 five speed ,4 wheel disk brakes and a 9 inch rear end from a 66 Shelby ,with 3:91 geared Detroit locker .It is going to be Gulf Stream Aqua ,a 69 Mustang color .I just need the interior done ,in aqua and light grey ,and paint it .

What do you think ? Not so bad for my first real all by my self restoration .It was white first but i can't find that pic ,or the one when it was red. This was in 1978 and 79 ,i was 17 at the time . That was 4 paint jobs in two years ...but i learned how to do body work and paint:D . you like those tires sticking out of the rear fenders :rlaugh:

1975 Chevrolet C10 Scottsdale longbed. Free, was my 16th birthday present from my grandfather. The summer before my 16th birthday we patched the floor (badly, no idea what we were doing), sanded and painted it from the original Willoway Green to Medium Bahama Blue Metallic, and tuned it up. Had a 350 with a 2-bbl, a TH350 trans, and a 4.56:1 posi 12-bolt that had been swapped into it some time in the 80s. It got 8mpg, and I kept it for ten years, at one point it was both the ugliest and quickest daily-driven pickup in town (swapped in a 400ci small-block with ported heads, mild cam, 750cfm Holley double-pumper, long-tube headers, Flowtech Warlock mufflers, and a built TH350)... then the SRT10s showed up! :rlaugh:

It eventually was in two bad wrecks (that didn't quite kill it) in two years' time, and the cab started coming apart again, and I realized that all that would be left of my grandpa's old truck (he'd bought it the year I was born to tow his boat with) after fixing/restoring everything was going to be the frame itself. At that point, I parted the poor thing out. The engine and trans went into a rat rod after I sold it, the 12-bolt rear axle replaced the blown 10-bolt in a co-worker's 84 Chevy (I think the dude still does burnouts with it daily now, had a ZZ350 crate engine in it), the steering wheel is in storage somewhere, I gave the seats (taken from a Starcraft Conversions 80s-model Suburban) to a young kid who was doing a resto-mod to his truck, and scrapped the rest for a few hundred.

It started my weird fascination with vehicles from the 1975 model year. I've had that Chevy, a 1975 Thunderbird, and now a 1975 Mustang II.

My first car was a 1982 Plymouth Arrow pickup truck. Dad bought it new from the dealer and I paid for it by working for him on his ranch. It was our farm truck for the first 3 years we had it and then it took me to college. I traded it back to dad in '91 with 140,000 miles on it and he drove it for several more years. When he was done with it, he took it to the scrap yard. We paid $6000 for that truck. Man, I really miss it.

mmmm 75 tbird:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool: my dad had a 74 tbird that i got to drive once. and there was a 76 tbird for sale at a used car lot that a friend of mine worked at once, wish i had the money for that one, it was a cream and gold model.
I miss EVERYTHING about that 'bird but the gas mileage. Seriously, for its size it drove great, even a smog-era 460 made serious torque, and the suspension under it was great.

67 mustang with a 289, 4 spd and 8 inch rear for $2300 when I was 16. . Blew up the 289 at E town. Swapped in a complete drivetrain from a Lincoln- 428, C6 and 9 inch rear with 4.11's Swapped out the front drums for discs.

78 cutlass supreme, paid $500 for it. Had to rebuild the rear frame rails that rotted out, blew the tranny and replaced it with a junkyard unit. Then I blew the motor and replaced that with a junkyard unit. About a year later I sold it for $300 to guy who brings cars down to Mexico and sells them.
