So I finally got around to changing my brake flex lines that I've had for a year on my 88 LX 5.0 because front hard lines are rusted beyond removal, have to replace them also. Got lucky removing all the lines from the prop valve and mc, much fighting to got new hard lines routed, thought I had it whipped.
This car is an 88 with MAF sensor and check engine light so I guess it is Cali or Canada car. When going to install new flex lines I find they do not fit into the brackets. After some head scratching, some cussing and research I see that the brackets are the 85-86 style with multiple points. The brackets and lines are original as far as I can tell. Has anyone else ever seen or heard of anything like this?

You sure the car is not a former 4-cyl chassis that was converted to 5.0L and a previous owner didn't also upgrade the brakes? 1987-93 4-cy brakes are same as 1986 and earlier.

VIN says it is a 88 LX 5.0 20170430_101942.webp
Not really looking for answers, entertainment only, ordered new brackets from LMR.

We have plenty of entertainment around here without hairy stangs, I won't mention any names (madmike) or accuse anybody (noobz) of have'n too much fun (mikestang63), ill fitting brake lines are just a minor annoyance, not really entertaining but good to see your get'n it done, soldier on.
