I just can't pass up a deal.....even if I don't need it. Yesterday I saw an ad for a T-5 trans out of a 93 Mustang 5.0 for $75. I just had to look..... Went and checked it out. Tremec T-5Z that appears to be in good condition. Owner said it was in his sons car, and that the car just got too rusty so they pulled stuff to sell. $75 bucks?? Ummm yeah it went home with me. Do I need it? No. Will I do yet another T-5 swap into one of my foxes....probably not but for the price I had to grab it.

I am likely the king of usless stang stuff, found a iac sensor once that I knew was bad but still put it in the box I got the new one from, marked it nfg and tossed it in my drawer.

Recently I bought a Brand new-still sealed in box-Pioneer Super Tuner AM/FM cassette deck . Circa 1988-ish lol. No idea why I bought it,no intention to ever use it. But it will look nice in my parts cabinet in the garage :D

Here's my latest vice of crap I don't need. A few more not shown, but trying to get one from every year.

Before 1930 they can get a bit pricey. I have a 1916 in the mail. My wife is starting to get annoyed ;)

As for car parts, I'm starting to offload a lot of stuff I don't need. $20 here and there. Big sale once in a while. Starting to clear out a decade or so of hoarding. Is it wrong I get "attached" to having parts around? I have a NOS bullitt wheel I bought for my old GT that I never used that I just can't sell.

Remember when I bought this for no reason? I'll never use it but since it's rare I won't sell it.

I have FedEx or ups arrive to drop off a package at least every other day. My wife doesn't even bat an eye anymore.... I mean I grabbed an old propane grill off the side of the road just so I can steal the s.s. sheeting off of it...... Maybe if I need it..... at some point.... eventually....

If it has 3rd gear that doesn't grind you can flip it to me haha

Just out of curiosity what do the pre 1930 plates go for?
We have a 1914 MA. plate that was in my wife's family.

Depends on the condition. 1903-1915 were porcelain on metal, so those tend to have the most value provided the white or blue porcelain is still intact and not chipped at all, and the stamp on the back is legible. Lower numbers bring higher value than high numbers with the 1914's having numbers from 0 to approx. 62000. I'd say a clean, chip-free 1914 plate is probably in the ballpark of $100-150.

That 1914 plate in my pic is maybe a $25-30 plate due to the condition as it's fairly beat up as you can see.

Basically the older you go, the higher value gets. I missed out on a 1909 plate for $200 that was in pristine condition. I would have gladly paid for it. The holy grail are the 1903-1907 plates. I can't find any.

I mean, technically everything we buy in this hobby isn't stuff we "need" haha.

One thing I am bad about is buying tools and then leaving them untouched, still in their box, for months, sometimes years.

"Oh yea, I can definitely use that palm sander, someday..."

Small electronic parts, computer parts and hand tools are my weakness.

There is a box of miscellaneous caps, resistors and ICs that I bought with the intention of fixing computer monitors that just sits around. Fixing the monitors isn't worth the time it consumes unless I got the monitor for free...

There is a spare 320 GB laptop hard drive I bought for $18 off of ebay because I didn't know how good the software format and test utilities were. If I had used the software format and test programs, I could have saved the $18 and an evening's worth of time.

There are 3 Snap-On metric sockets I bought with a $50 gift certificate that have been sitting in my tool box metric drawer for 3 years. I don't think that I have ever used them.

Buy it? Hell, I pay $80/month to store it all.

I really should get back to selling all that :poo: on Ebay... How many 302 engines, sets of valvecovers, carburetors (yeah, an EFI guy that hoards carburetors... don't judge me!!!), and other various Ford and GM parts do I need?

Hell, if it's fox-body or Mustang II and the price is reasonable, I buy it... even if I already have three of it.
