screaching, stall

I'm at work so sorry for the sloppynesss.....car wouldn't turn over...4 hours later on break it did start and had to feather the gas to keep I going...scratched reall bad....took belt off pully under the alternator wasnt turning...I believe it's the smog pump?...can I bypass it with a shorter belt just so I can get home?

You will probably clog the catalytic converters and won't pass smog. You won't be able to title the car, sell it or get new plates in states that have smog inspections.

thanks man....no converters, and I live in iowa....I dont think there emissions here
