I drive mine daily. Once home from work I rarely go anywhere. Last weekend the local town sponsored a rolling car show, so I went. You wouldn't believe how many people were trying to buy it. Had to have been 10 people. I mean, yeah when I go stop at a gas station there's sometimes someone who stops in and asks if it's for sale (and it is for the right price, make me an offer), but that many offers in one hour or so kinda blew me away. Tells me that either (1) a 93 coupe might still be sought after or (2) it's so ugly that people want it's uniqueness. It's a 4 cylinder and when they find out it ain't a v8, they usually back down; quickly. But I don't care. I like driving the little turd. Also have a nice 92 GT stroker 351w but it's not nearly as fun as the 4 cylinder is. The little 4 cylinder is a hoot. When the turbo packs the pipes it's like flipping a light switch, maybe 70hp off boost and then a second later probably 275. In the winter, tiresmoke in 2nd and 3rd gears (they are useless when it comes on). Surprises a lot of people.
Bought (traded) my first mustang in gosh I think 99 (84 GT), drove the wheels off of it, traded that back to the guy I got it from for an SVO and 85 Mustang L hatchback (I don't think it was even an LX--it didn't have a rear spoiler, but it was a V8/auto), then sold the V8 car for what the 84 GT was worth & kept the SVO for a while to learn how finicky the little turbo 2.3 is. Sold it for a lot more than it was worth (collector bought it), used the money to buy a 2003 Lightning, got tired of the lightning (still kept it though) and bought a 86 XR4Ti that was a daily, added an intercooler from a Porsche, turned up the boost, and did some
suspension work. Didn't touch the interior and it was RATTY, you sat on foam and springs since the original leather was long gone. But--as ratty as it was, I didn't really care about it and since I was turning wrenches at a local dealership, I cared less about getting into it dirty/greasy/etc. Had a lady rear end it, and I could have easily blown it off and sent her on down the road but she kept talking about how I stopped too fast in front of her, that I was a jerk, etc, so I called the law and they wrote her up, found drugs in her car, took her to jail, etc etc and her insurance company paid me nicely. Sold the XR used the money from that and the insurance money & bought a really really nice 86 SVO from a friend who needed the money (although he didn't give me a great deal on the car), drove/showed that SVO for years. SVO's are kinda cool but they are STILL a 4 cylinder Mustang which apparently nobody wants so when the time came to sell it, local it had zero interest, so it went to another collector in Kansas I think.
But yeah they're a sickness, but they're kinda cool at the same time (fox body mustangs). They are crude in every possible way in comparison to a 2019/2020 Mustang ecoboost or GT or bullet, but still nonetheless fun. Even a 4 cylinder although I could care less about the automatic versions.
