AT Racing World heads? (Or other "cheap" brands...)

  • Sponsors (?)

Anyhow. I'm digging up an old thread as I just ordered these heads. I'm going to see just how much 'out of the box' I can run them.
Right now I have a mildly built 302 with ported E7s. I'm looking to get a few more ponies, and hope this would help.

My goal is to maybe hit near 350, but that might be a bit much if these heads are as bad as I am reading in here.

Nice! Feel free to leave a critique so people can make a judgment call for their own builds. :nice:

This is incorrect. Your account should still be here.
Sadly it is not, as i used my same email addy to make this one. It's been probably over 10 years since I've posted.

They should be coming in this week. But my car won't be running till probably the end of July or later. This motor won't get dyno'd with the E7s, so sadly I cannot compare heads directly.

What heads Promaxx?? Lets see what you got.

These are what I have my eye on. They were on sale a while back but I wasn't in a position financially to drop the money on them yet. I'm in a much better place now since selling my camper a few weeks ago, so I'm keeping my eye on them.

What are your impressions on them so far?

Odd. I have accounts on here that are twice that old (at least) that have just one post. Others (test accounts) have zero posts.
Like me! :SN:

Is it any of these by chance?

I should also note that I have 3,420 accounts with unique usernames that include the word, "MustangMan".
Nope
It would have been "mustangman65_79" as that's what I made all my accounts back then. I now drop the "_" when I can.

I think, if it were me, at minimum I'd disassemble them and have the springs checked out to make sure they are appropriate for the cam I was running. And since I would have them apart, I'd check the seal of the valve on the seat to see if they need lapped.

I thought about that, since the springs I have on my E7s are really good springs, probably better than these. I don't know more about them sadly cause they were used, but they were on a race car so had very low miles. Next to none.

Thank you LILCBRA for your invitation to this thread.
I am a beginner Mustang 68 302 owner. I am going to buy a 347 stroker kit with Summitracing and I have some questions, like what kind of heads cylinders to install, a friend of my sell really cheap a GT40p. Somebody knows if it works? Will be a good idea?
I am looking just for a street "sport" car, no NOS, no track, no supercharger. I think I don't need forged pistons or forged crankshaft right?
Mustang HT '68 302, Mexico build, mexican engine, Tremec T5 Mustang '95 + rear end 8.8" posi + 3.73.
Thank you in advance.
