The doors just needed too much work so I picked up a set on sale from CJP. They are really nice and heavy. The sideview mirror mount holes are too far forward but I can deal with that.

I wired and installed my horns. They didn't work so I tore them apart and fixed them, sorta. They sound terrible. Have any of you tried to make a horn sound better? There is a little adjustment screw on the back but it doesn't want to move.

You know you can use any horn you like right? Find a car with horns with a sound you like, then wire them up(I would suggest using a relay for best results)

The only issue I have is that they are too quiet. I may swap out the mufflers to get a little more rumble.
Cut outs! or just drill some holes for death tone.

How cold is it in SLC today?

Home made explosion booth! Cool! I always worry about the solvent cloud not getting exhausted and having microscopic solvent rain killing the shine.
But I'm not a great painter.
Keep up the great progress!
Its fun to see some one moving forward.

It’s right around freezing these days. The shop is 70.
I do have air flow through the booth and out the door. Just a box fan at one end and a filter at the other. The air exits out the side door of the shop. The heater is outside all of this of course and the lighting is a fluorescent overhead.
I am not an experienced painter by any means. Do you see any problems with this setup?

I installed an exhaust system from CJPony Parts. It fit really well and went in without any problems. The only issue I have is that they are too quiet. I may swap out the mufflers to get a little more rumble.

Curiosity on this...do the downpipes from the manifolds sit below the frame rails? Just trying to compare how low my header collectors compared to other setups.

For my first time using a spray gun at all, I am happy. I wound up with a lot of dust in my paint but I know how to avoid that when painting the car. I tried taping plastic to the floor and it came loose and flapped around sending all kinds of dirt into the air. I have to redo a couple pieces but I think I can fix the big parts. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the paint and clear laid down without running. I had a part of my booth plastic come loose and stick to some parts and I poured as much paint on my bench as I got into the mixing cup but it was a good start and I am glad I tried it out on a few pieces before attacking the car.

I am taking up the floor plastic and will wet the floor next time. I am going to buy a paint can pour spout and I will be much more diligent with the tack cloth between coats next time.
