I've listed this car on craigslist. I bought the car initially to swap its black interior for the grey one in my other mustang.

Unfortunately, my other car has been in the shop for a year and a half, which made swapping out the interior impossible. I have 4 cars, a jet-ski, and a trailer, and I simply can't get all of that to California when I head there for my Master's degree in June.

It's not a sad story, though. I had an absolute blast getting this car to run a 12.63 best with what I consider to be an exceptional 1.83 60' time on stock-size Goodyear GT all-season tires. I have really enjoyed taking it for a spin every time I missed my old mustang. If the car doesn't sell before I go pick the other one up from Dallas in May, then I may still yet get the interiors swapped. However, I'm going to list it on Craigslist and see if I can reduce the stress on my move in a couple months.

I just reached out to the fella I sold this car to. I was curious how much fun he's having with it. He says he works too much and doesn't drive it. Said he put in a new carpet, weatherstripping, headlights, tail lights, subframe connectors, and a passenger floor pan. I'm not sure why the floor pan. Now, he says he'd sell it if I was interested. I'm not, but that's only because I have 2 incredible foxes and live 2,400 miles from there, now. Even if I were in the area, or if I move back there, I'd love to pick it back up. It's just a fun, unassuming car that moves out!

Is anyone looking for a pretty nice fox with a combo that works in the KY area? If so, I can put you in touch.

Guess who's back! Back again! Black Jack's back! Tell a friend!
Pics coming soon!

It's been sitting for the majority of the time that Mark, the fella I sold it to in April-ish of 2017, owned it. He put in a new floor pan on the passenger side, which was apparently cracked, added a stereo head-unit, and a amp/subwoofer that he subsequently removed. He added some weather stripping, and not too much else. I guess he did headlights and tail lights, but it needs new ones. He sold me an uninstalled NOS kit with a 'small' shot of maybe 100hp, or so.

I've already got the Accufab 70mm that I couldn't find when I owned it before coming for $150. That will eliminate the whistling sound and it might even flow slightly better.

I'm debating what I want to do with the car. Perhaps 1 of 2 directions:
1) I'm thinking about putting the front B-springs in to reverse from a backwards rake to a more normal forwards rake & lowered look, then doing a 5 lug conversion with 4-wheel discs & installing my spare T-56, and real Cobra R Wheels w/ nice tires, and finally doing interior & body work to clean things up. Foxes are really starting to command some good money, and so sinking this kind of cash into Black Jack could pay off on resale, later while looking great, now.
-OR-
2) Don't screw up a good thing. Leave the car as-is. Drive for the rest of the Summer to enjoy. Improve the interior/exterior to my liking over the winter. Install the nitrous kit and maybe 3.73 gears with some newer stickier Drag radials, and have a car that will show the new generation what a nice, low-key combo can still do! If the past is anything to go by, it *might* run 10-15mph more than it did (108mph + 15 = 123?), and it might drop from the low 12s to the mid-low 11s? Take that Chargers, S550s, etc!

@Mustang5L5 Can we chat about the best bang-for-buck (not too rich, not too poor) 5-lug & brake setup that isn't a PITA to get my hands on, these days? I anticipate the most expensive part of option 1 would be the 5-lug & brake swap. These days, if this can be done well (Cobra's or better with prop-valve, MC, 3-2, and all accessories), easily (place order... get parts in the mail), & affordably (say ~$3k), then option 1 would be VERY tempting. Then, I figure $5-$6k get's me a 5-lug car, nice brakes, good stance, cleaner interior & exterior, that will be good lookin' and fun for me for a while, and then maybe sell for $15k+ in this market?

It can be done these days. You can pretty much get everything in the mail other than the 94-95 spindles, which are in the $500 range now with new hubs. Everything else can be mail-ordered although not from the same place. Standard SN95 cobra brakes would prob be the way to go. More than enough brake. There's the ATS/43mm combo but you are more limited on wheels.

I'm working on a new 5-lug swap thread with more info on piecing a swap together

I like the F# whistle at idle. It’s not like my car is a Grand Marquis anyway, and I know my IAC is working. :)
If you bought the car back, there must be a lot right about it. Choose option #2. Unless there was something specific you did not like, have fun driving it.

Looking forward to it. In the meantime, I'll brush up on the stuff I used to know, by finding the old threads where we've already had these discussions...

F# whistle

Yes, I'm highly tempted to just enjoy as-is. I have 2 other projects I need to focus my productive mustang energy on.

Does anyone know how to eyeball the difference between an SN95 housing and a fox housing? This is on the marketplace near me:

1658489395006.png

I remember there being a 1.5" difference (.75 to each side) length difference, but I don't know what the length I need to measure actually is and I'm not sure I could discern this otherwise. I kinda like the idea of picking up a housing that already has 3.73s in it and 5 lug axles. If everything turns out to be alright with the rear end, I could sell off mine and make up most of the money, while getting the rear gear & axles I'd need. Wish I wasn't an army nomad and could just stay in a spot for decades. Then, I'd never have sold my old rear-end (new moniker for my avatar @Noobz347?).

Those are disks.

You want a 94-98 axle. Same housing as the 86-93's but with the disk brakes on it. If it's a 99-04 rear the housing was widened and you don't really want that.
