The vert fox bodies have 4 stiffening plates attached with bolts and rivets from the factory.. They are under the front of the doors and just behind the doors..
My MM subframe stiffener instructions show them being cut and modified then welded to the subframe/stiffener bars...
I have not installed my sub frame stiffeners yet, so I can't say how they have worked or whatever......
Your car is super nice and I would keep it as stock as possible, but seeing what holds the front and rear of a Convertible Fox body together the full stiffener bars are a must in my opinion....
I have attached a pic of one of the stock stiffening plates off of the car.. I " think ' this is one of the front plates...
