Dunno exactly. I've got an 85, and it says it's for 86-93's, so it isn't applicable to me. This pic is from LMR's site.... does it help any? Maybe someone else can provide some insight about it.

^That's the seal that goes between the factory air filter box and inner fender.

Ahhh... it's for the engine air filter box. I see that now. My mistake... I was mixing up the air box and hvac box.

Well TBH i believe my airbox is missing that seal anyways. I would buy it but i think the supercharger i'll be installing gets rid of the factory air box anyways so i don't think i'll need it.
 
Good info because i've only done one side and i know i've done something wrong because my window now rolls up/down super slowly and i feel like i'm straining the window motor too much. I still need to do the other side at some point and will take any tips i can.
Try spraying some powdered graphite into the channel..... It used to be sold in a small squeeze bottle with a long tip....

Anyone have any recommendations on like precision hand saws? I want to make some clearance for my front wheels by cutting some of the ground effect plastic as well as need to cut the hole in my front bumper for my Cobra grill insert.

I previously made some clearance for my wheels but it was kind of a hack job using a dull drywall saw I had laying around. Something sharper and more precise would be ideal.
 
Death Wheel
Mounted to a small grinder, wear a face shield.........there is a reason they are called a 'death wheel'.
I don't recommend cutting the ground effects on these cars , that stuff is hard to find if you need to replace it.
But we do have to 'adjust' things when 'improving' our cars :doh:

I do have a Dremel, i'll look at different bit options. I tried the Dremel before on the Ground Effect plastic and it sucked, but obviously was not using the correct blade/bit.
 
Appreciate the feedback. This group is probably tired of hearing me say it but I always have to try to keep noise down as my only free time to work on the car is like 9-10pm (830 if I’m lucky) at night due to having a toddler. That’s why I was looking at hand tools, lot quieter lol

I missed the “hand tools” part.

Harbor freight has a really small hacksaw that’s thin and a few inches long that may do the job. You can literally do a “hack job” on your car. :rolleyes:

Please wait until you have the opportunity to use the power tools though. Don’t rush this. I really wouldn’t want you taking a hand saw to your car unless you feel you can do a neat and proper job. Friends don’t let friends hack their Stangs! :coff:

Well in the meantime I decided to tackle the drivers side door to body weatherstripping.

Not a ‘hard’ job, a little time consuming to get all the interior trim pieces out of the way but glad it’s done. I don’t think my passenger side is this bad but I don’t have the room on that side anyways to tackle it until I can move the car again.
 
Nice! Ive been needing to do that for years!
One thing that I didn’t like is I watched LMRs video to find out exactly what trim pieces to remove… during the video he suggests using a pipe cutter tool to cut the excess off. I did that and my cut ended up worse than just using a box cutter, so ya I wouldn’t recommend the pipe cutter.
