Your comment about letting primer and bondo shrink and expand brought back a memory from probably 30 years ago..
A friend who came from a wealthy family was having an L88 corvette worked on by a corvette specialist a few states away... He had called the restoration guy and asked for a progress report and some pictures...
The pics came back and it showed his very rare L88 corvette outside in the sun, rain and snow..... Message with the pictures said something like " Real world temps and weather help the primer get to where it needs to be" ..
Pretty sure the car was a 68......
As it should be. Make it see the same weather it will see after paint so everything comes out and can be corrected

Body done on smoothed bay front clip. First round high build primer.
Did some subtle differences between this one and the previous calypso one. Pinch weld is shave but then worked it into a style line where it fades in and out.
