K.A.R. Fiberglass quality? Anyone put thier newest units on?

My son and I decided to put on a 67 Shelby hood. I read as many posts as I could and it sounds like these guys make some darn good quality that requires very little work to finish. I guess they made their own form and it is working out pretty good for them. Can anyone tell me how it worked...

    Electric Fan Options

I used a flex a lite fan with a three row aluminum rediator. When this fan turns on, which only happens when it is sitting idling. The amount of air that is pushed through the radiator is amazing. Great set up! I use a 180* thermostat and the controler is set at 185*. No issues with draining...

stupid question about the vacuum lines on the RPM II upper

When I first installed it (sold it before start up - for a ported Explorer) I installed a 90 underneith at the back for the PVC - I had to pull that bottom plate in order to install the 90. I also plugged the front holes. In the back of the upper there are two small holes and one large one...

New build how long til rocker adjustment

Sorry, that really did not make sense  What I meant was that there is a very small amount (a few small floating drops of oil in the coolant.) No, the build had lots of moly lube, and I used Mobile One for the first startup as I did not change out the pistons. (stock bottom end)...

New build how long til rocker adjustment

Now that I have it running, I have taken it out for a few loops around the neighborhood, and have run it for a total of about an hour and a half. I hear absolutely no noise from the valve train, but I know that per proper build process, I will have to go in and retorque them. I have 1.6 FRP...

    all u efi swappers

Grab everything you can. BAP TAD/TAD, O2 sensors off the headers, and I would suggest pulling as much of the sections of car side plugs. Of particular the brown plug by the master cylinder, and the gray plug under the dash which also includes the check engine light wire, and the wires for the...

    Intake manifold

IF you decide to go with the Explorer. You may have to drill out for the ACT & ECT, both use a 3/8" NPT (national pipe thread). Drill out the holes with a 9/16 drill bit. Go slow and use pipe threading oil to keep the heat down. I tried to find the info TMoss used to have posted but it is...

    Intake manifold

Speaking from my own experience only with this intake question... I got my Explorer intake off of a 96. Had to drill and tap for two sensors (that was easy), and I did a mild port job based on the instructions from TMoss. If you don't have the tools or time/patience, go to Tom! He is the...

    Should I believe this guy?

200xp8 - "just remember the fox computer is not restrictive, it will pretty much adapt to damn near anything, including rear wheel numbers well above 600rwhp. " I guess I have always been the type to watch what people do rather than listen to the garbage that flows out of their mouths to...

    Should I believe this guy?

I just knew you would chime in. LOL I do appreciate the opinion :nice: Well, I just ordered a new EGR, ovalized tail pipes, and an MSD box from my website, along with some other small parts. Gotta get those jumpers (diodes I think for the TAB/TAD and smog - saw a post on that some time ago)...

    Should I believe this guy?

Thanks Foxfan88- I guess I just don't want to smell it after all the money I put into building it. :D (of course now the budget is gone, or at least expanded until next spring. LOL) Oh, I forgot to add that I still have to add the eliminator kit for the smog, TAB/TAD. Also, would a bad...

    Should I believe this guy?

I had a friend stop by and he told me that I did not need a Chip/tune with the setup I have??? The car is not running too bad, but it is putting out enough gas fumes to make your eyes water if it runs too long in the garage. He is an ASE Ford mechanic... What do you think? Here is the...

Anyone using Comp Cams "High Energy" 268H?

I have the Xtream Energy 270 version and it is sweet. Nice low end torque, and it sounds sweet with Dynomax Super Turbos. Then again, mine's a bit more modified, roller and EFI... so maybe not a good comparison???

Crazy. Well with all the help everyone has given me, I can't tell you how good it feels to help someone else out. No matter how negative the problem. :rlaugh:

    Front Lights mystery

Got it! It was the ground wire that I found in the plug cluster in the drivers side front. :nonono: The turn signal issue was a bad relay.

    headlight and brake light problems

I had a ground on the harness (drivers side front, in the plug cluster for the headlight/turn sig/marker lights) that just needed to be connected. Fixed the whole issue.

    Front Lights mystery

Checked for continuity only on the switch... kind of tight in there. I will have some more time this weekend, but I'll add it to the check list :nice:

    Front Lights mystery

Sorry it took so long to post this, I have been traveling. I was only able to take a quick look (at 12 midnight, LOL) before I am out of pocket again for a week, but I did find a couple of things out. I checked the back of the headlight plug by jumpering the appropriate terminals, and got...
