07 Shelbys seen in Punta Gorda florida

My girl friend saw a caravan of GT500's (4 total, 3 red, 1 white) traveling north on I 75 near Punta Gorda. We are assuming that they were on their way back from the Naples Ford testing facility. She snapped a number of pics before they saw her and tried to get away from her. I have emailed...

    another tie rod question

My 65 fastback was originally a 6 cylinder setup. I bought V8 spindles from a salvage yard in north florida. I do not know if they were removed from a manual or power steering setup. I bought 2 V8 outer tie rod ends for manual steering. The passenger side fits, the driver side tie rod is...

need help with rear disk brake pad installation

I got myself a set of slotted rotors and decided to change out the disk pads. All went well up front but on the rear I cannot get the brake piston to compress enough to re-install the caliper assembly. I used a large C clamp and ended up twisting the steel handle into a crooked mess. Put the...

    Another rear axle question

I have a 1965 FB that is currently equipped with a 4 lug rear axle. When I bought the car I was given a 5 lug rear axle that appears to be a 9 inch type. The casting number is C70W that if I decoded it correctly would mean that it came from a 1967 Fairlane or Torino. My 65 stang was swapped...

how to remove a 289 flex plate?

I got my 68 289 on a engine stand and I want to break loose the bolts that hold on the flex plate. I tried a 24" breaker bar with no luck. I went out and got an impact wrench, 230 torque, and sockets. Still no luck. Is there a trick to this or am I just weak? I don't want to round...

    motor mount ?

I have 2 shop manuals but I still can't figure out the answer to this question. Where do you unbolt the motor mounts prior to yanking the motor? at the chassis? at the throughbolt that connects the 2 halves of the mount together? or at where the upper mount part bolts to the block?

refurbish or replace stock 1965 radiator?

I getting ready to rebuild the engine bay including pulling the motor and radiator. My first thought was to take the radiator to a shop and have them do their thing while the motor was out. Or does it make more sense to just get a new one?

The 289 V-8 is not original to my 65 fastback. Is there a way to determine what model year the motor was built in?
