Another rear axle question

I have a 1965 FB that is currently equipped with a 4 lug rear axle. When I bought the car I was given a 5 lug rear axle that appears to be a 9 inch type. The casting number is C70W that if I decoded it correctly would mean that it came from a 1967 Fairlane or Torino. My 65 stang was swapped out to a 289 so the original 4 lug setup has to go. Does anyone know if I can use this rear axle on my 65 stang? The spring perches seem to be about 43" apart and the driveshaft offset seems to be about the same as the old rear end.

If the over all width is correct for your car ( about 56.25" axle to axle) and the center to center distance on the spring pads is 43" then it should work. Have you looked to see if the nuts holding the "chunk" can all be removed with a socket and ratchet?
