    I am pretty sure I installed it the correct way. Are there any pics online that show how and where to apply the RTV on the seal? Thanks, Eric

    Resurrecting this thread.... I installed the seal as described above (not flush) and did add a dab of sealant on the end caps (not on the ends of the seal itself).....fired up the motor and a couple of hours later, noticed that it's leaking from the RMS. Hmm...I am going to get this right...

    Thanks guys...I'll have to tear it open and take a look. Are the 1.7 rockers known to kill the stock valvesprings overtime (Like since the early 90's)?

    What would happen if you didn't have the shim kit? Mine are noisy and I have never popped the valve cover to take a look why....can the VC's be removed w/o taking the upper intake off?

    UPDATE: I replaced the seal over the weekend and it wasn't as scary as first perceived, but only time will tell if I did a good job. As a note, I torqued the main cap to 70 ftlbs....I first set the Autozone rented torque wrench to 30# and it kept going and didn't click...it just got harder to...
