    New clutch cable, engages way too high (i think)

    I replaced my cable because it was nearly impossible to get the car in gear. Now the pedal feels awesome, but the clutch engages too high, i think??? I used an OEM for racing replacement cable, is this how they are supposed to be? I can get used to it, just want to be sure everything is ok

    autozone clutch cable any good?

    thanks guys, i ordered the Ford part. i think the quadrant should be ok because this all started when the bracket mounting the cable to the car broke and let the cable hang next to the exhaust. I mounted it back up and its a little better, but i think the damage has been done....

    I need to replace my calbe ASAP (can barely shift without stepping through the floorboard) this is just a driver, so i dont need any fance adjustable calbe or anything like that, so will the stock replacement from autozone ($30) be ok for what i use this thing for?

    Anyone ever replace a backing plate on rear drums?

    Ive never had this problem before, but it seems the shoes wont sit properly because the backing plate on the pass side is worn down in the upper right corner, beyond repair. Will i have to remove the axle to remove the plate? ive never replaced one, so trying to get the easiest way....thanks

    Wont the super strength lock-tite work just as well as locking bolts? ive used it on everything and never had a problem

    Yes, i have aftermarket headers and they stick out further than the stockers. when i realized the bracket was broken, the cable was less than an inch away from them. i figured it was ok because there was no external damage to the cable. it is much much better now that it is mounted...

    Think my clutch cable is bad...how to replace?

    I looked under the hood today, and where the cable comes out of the firewall is loose and moving around. Also, where it mounts to the frame, the bracket is snapped off. Would this make a difference seeing as it changes the overall routing of the cable?
