Ive never had this problem before, but it seems the shoes wont sit properly because the backing plate on the pass side is worn down in the upper right corner, beyond repair. Will i have to remove the axle to remove the plate? ive never replaced one, so trying to get the easiest way....thanks

I had the same problem on a 87 camero ,the wheel cylender,s kept blowing out ,couse the shoe was going on an angle and the brake shoe wore at an angle, yes i had to remove the axles

Not hard. Jack it, drop the axle cover and drain it, pull the c clip on the side you want to change, pull the axle.

There are 4 bolts for the backing plate. You will need to remove all the brake stuff, including the ebrake cable.

Assemble is pretty much the reverse.
