    Fabbing Monte Carlo Bar, measurements?

    I have a curved bar from Branda, just got it yesterday. It is 39.5". It is specific to 67-68. I had a 65-70 bar that I got from NPD years ago and it was too wide by atleast an inch. It measured 41". Will test fit this one on Monday.

    Getting ready to order my hood from Branda, I like the one with the side louvers but is it period correct for a 67 or is the hood without the side louvers correct? I want to get the right one. Any advice?

    Surely these cars haven't settled that much over the years! When I measure the bar and the distance between the shock towers this thing is exactly 1 inch too wide. I can't imagine spreading the towers 1 inch to install this thing is good for the car?? What would that do for fender alignment...

    Thanks zookeeper. Are you talking about the panel that has the open cut outs or the one that has the boxes for the tail lights? I am going to use the mustang project tail lights and don't think they will fit the way you describe. Any pics you have might help me figure this out. Thanks.

    Does anyone know if this panel fills the gap between the shelby endcaps and the tallight panel? I bought the shelby decklid and endcaps and am now looking at running the original taillights and filling the area with fiberglass or possibly getting this panel and going with the full shelby rear.

    Part of my floors are epoxy primed and the new replacement floors are bare metal. I wan't to paint them red as they came from the factory. Is zero rust a good solution? I know it would be good over the bare metal, but what about the expoy primer? Maybe I will epoxy prime the new metal then...

    Not sure of the gear, it has the stock 8" rear, probably 2.79. If I start adding the $450 for the transmission, probably another $250 for the stuff to install, replacing my long tube headers and whatever might arise this may not be that good of a deal!!?

    Just a guesstimate, I would say it is 1/3 to 1/2 offset. I looked at a 67 coupe yesterday and it was offset as well.. seems strange though. Just want to make sure this is correct before too much gets welded in place.. thanks..
