    control arms

My front control arms were a bitch to remove. The two bolts that hold them in did not want to come out. The bushings are a bitch to get out as well. You have to torch them out and then when they get hot enough, you take a stick and push the bushing out of it's sleeve. The shells the bushings...

    Blue Koni Adjustable Shocks???

I know what you mean. We changed the struts in my friends stang with Red ones, and they say adjustable onthem, but even reading the instructions, we could not get them adjusted. It said to compress the strut and then turn it clockwise. No way did this do a damn thing. Do Koni's have a knob...

    Blue Koni Adjustable Shocks???

I thought all Koni's were adjustable? Never hear dof Blue Konis either. The yellows are supposed to be the best and Red's just a step down. Maybe you are thinking, Tokico?

    5-lug conversion??

You can only use 94-98 spindles. The 94-95 spindles require grinding to clear the caliper. 99+ will not work. I forget why, and I used to know but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Does Anyone Know Of Good Aftermarket Cooling Fan?

You can use a fan out of a Dodge Viper. Do a search on here and the guy that did it has a ton of pics. Moves a good deal of air, as it should.

Correct me if I'm wrong - five lug questions.

I have an 86 with the same setup you are looking for. On the 86 there is no point in swaping the MC because the 85 Lincoln Towncar MC works fine. Use 87-93 front struts. The 94+ will be too long. Any 94-98 spindle will work. Keep the stock springs. Can cut coils but not really worth it. I...

Help Me! Car hums on the highway!

I have an 86 mustang with SN95 brakes. This includes the wheel bearings and spindles. I noticed before when I drove it when I got up to 55mph+ my right side, passenger side would hum. So I was told it was the wheel bearing. Simple enough. I got one from Ford and still it hums when I get to...

    88 GT bumpsteer

1990-1993 Tie rods will help because the shank is longer and allows the rack to move further up and down. Get some offset rack bushings too.

Anyone remove their smog pump and A/C?

In Minnesota there are no emissions laws, and I am running no cats. My A/C has never worked and I do not think I would even care to get it to work. I like to auto x my car and look for simple things that could benefit my car. Will removing these two things make my car faster because it does...

Speed Density Computer Questions. 86-88 SD Computer Experts Needed!

I have a question about 86-88 speed density computers. I know a guy that has an 88 with a fried computer. I have my computer left over from my 86. Are these computers interchangeable without ill effects? I am fairly certain that from 86-88 the setup was the same, but I want to make sure I do...

UCA / LCA Bushings, Replace all with Poly?

True it does feel 100 times better…and bumpier that’s for sure. But watch out with the poly bushings. I did all of the rear except the diff ones. I was on the autocross course and they grip and grip and grip and grip, and then, they let go without warning and kill you. I spun out twice...

UCA / LCA Bushings, Replace all with Poly?

You should "box" your control arms too while they are out of the car.

Ball Joint Replacement. SN95 or Fox?

I called Maximum Motorsports today and they told me to run SN95 Cobra Ball Joints in my control arms. They also said that it does not matter whether I use SN95 or Fox Ball Joints, and there is no difference in them beside the height. Anyone else have any advice which kind to throw in my stock...

Help me identify this wheel guys!

I bought a set of 4 of these wheels for my 86 stang. I only bought them to mount road race slicks. I am curious what year of Mustang they came off of. I know they are 16x7.5 :notnice: , so that means I cannot run a very fat tire. I have seen 245/50/16 on 91-93 Pony Wheels and they bulge out...

Need help with fitment of tires on wheels.

I am in the process of putting road race slicks on some 16 inch stock mustang 98-04 wheels. Are the wheels 7.5 inches or 8 inches in width? I am looking at some 255/50/16 tires. I know they may rub in the front, but will these fit without bulging and making the slicks worthless. What would...

Installing Ball Joints. Need some help.

I got my old ball joints out of my control arms with a sledge hammer. I am adding SN95 joints to my arms. I do not have a ball joint press, and was wondering if there is a way to press them in without one. I do not want to damage the bottom of the joint by hammering on it. Any suggestions?
