Speed Density Computer Questions. 86-88 SD Computer Experts Needed!

I have a question about 86-88 speed density computers. I know a guy that has an 88 with a fried computer. I have my computer left over from my 86. Are these computers interchangeable without ill effects? I am fairly certain that from 86-88 the setup was the same, but I want to make sure I do not sell him something that will not work with his car. Thank You.

look on the computert its self, if it has the same numbers it should be good to go.......... try and go to a ford dealer and get them to run the parts numbers for both computers and see if they match up
