    sloppy shifter

    My shifter (hurst comp plus) has about 2 inches of play in each gear and i was told that there is a plastic piece in the transmission where the bottom of the shifter goes in that is notorious for wearing out. I need to know what this piece is called so i can buy a new one. thanks

    crankshaft machining

    how much does it cost to get a crankshaft turned? is .020 under too much to go? also when you get it machined do you have to go .020 under on both connecting rod and main journals? if so how much does is cost for a line bore? thanks

    plastic gauge clearance

    i just plasti gauged my rods and they came out to .076mm the smallest measurement on the plasti gauge. i was wondering if this is good or bad? my problem was when i torqued all the rods it would not spin if the 4th cylinder was torqued all the way. im hoping its just a bent rod. thanks

    How much would you charge?

    A guy wants to buy my stock 5.0 intake complete with injectors and fuel rails, IAC, and egr valve, along with the mass airflow sensor. How much would you say all this is worth? I was thinking any where from $75-100, seeing as they are all in good working condition.

    shifter grease

    i took apart a hurst shifter because it was in need of a good cleaning and was wondering which type of grease do i use when i put it back together? There appeared to be a white grease and some grey is the white lithium? and the grey graphite or is the color just from wear.

    performer rpm on stock 5.0

    Once im done with the rebuild everything will be going back, but for the time being i just wanted to get a little more power out of the replacement engine. i was just wondering if the intake and stuff would be too much for the stock engine, since i was not planning on changing the heads

    I was wondering if i would have any problems putting a performer rpm intake with 30lb injectors, 75mm throttle body and 75mm mass air sensor on a stock 5.0 would this help or hurt the performance? i am in the middle of a rebuild and am going to throw another engine in my car for the time being...

    How does my stock shift knob come off?

    If that doesnt work try a rubber o-ring that is smaller than the stick and slide it on where you want the boot to stay, worked for me

    notch in roller lifters

    My roller lifters have a notch on one side of them, and i didnt pay attention to which way they came out. i was wondering if the notch goes in toward the middle or facing out when installing them? thanks

    How can i tell if my roller rockers are 1.6 or 1.7? Also what is the correct way to set the valve lash? Would stock sized pushrods work? i have the old ones out and they have been worn severely about 1 inch on the top from the guide plates. i am running gt-40 heads and a ford motorsports...
