How do I run a PCV system on a boosted application?

I run a PCV valve with an air/oil seperator on my car. Then I run a breather / catch can that connects to the pass. side valve cover where the oil cap used to be. Or you can just use one of the breathers that screws in place of the oil cap, but they tend to get oil-soaked after a while. You are...

So I was at NMRA in Bradington Sat.

It's been flashing a code 34 for a while now, just haven't gotten around to fixing it. Main reason being I'm not 100% what's wrong with it. I didn't want to buy a monitor from Ford for $150 and then find out that it's not the problem

So I was at NMRA in Bradington Sat.

I was there on Saturday too. Had a good time. I didn't do much parts shopping 'cause I don't really need anything. I was trying to track down an airbag diagnostic monitor in the hopes of fixing my airbag light. I found a guy selling a complete dash out of a 92. I asked if he would part...

Who's using Fel-Pro head gaskets and a blower?

I'm building a motor for a buddy. I was gonna use Cometic head gaskets, but now I'm thinking about some Fel-Pro 1011-2's. My understanding is I need the 1011-2 for aluminum heads because it has a copper sealing ring instead of steel? Or should I use the 1011-1? How do these hold up? He's...

Who's using the old-style timing cover for mechanical fuel pumps on their 5.0?

Where did you guys hook up your negative battery / ground cable? Did you just attach it to one of the fuel pump block off plate bolts?

Who's using the old-style timing cover for mechanical fuel pumps on their 5.0?

Cool, thanks. I'm guessing for the dipstick hole I can just tap it and thread a plug into it.

Who's using the old-style timing cover for mechanical fuel pumps on their 5.0?

I'm building a motor for a friend of mine. I'm using the FRPP Fox-Body conversion kit, which came with a new timing cover, water pump, oil pan, and balancer. The problem is the new timing cover is set up for a mechanical fuel pump. It also has a hole for the old-school, front-mounted dipstick...

TFS cam and Timing set installation question

This has really been bugging me. I decided that there was something not right, and I was going to start over. By some miracle I was able to get the short dowel pin out of the cam. I then installed the long dowel pin and it fits much better. I had to grind just a tad off of it to get it flush...

TFS cam and Timing set installation question

I'll try and get a pic up later today. It only engages the dowel by a little less than a 1/4" or so

    fender/door not flush

This is a common problem, and like you said, it is usually caused by jacking up the car in the wrong spot. Luckily, it is usually and easy fix. Under the car at the bottom portion of the fender, the fender is attached with a 8mm / 5/16th bolt. The bolt is covered up by part of the plastic...

TFS cam and Timing set installation question

I'm putting together a 306 for a buddy of mine. I installed the TFS stg 1 cam and the FRPP timing set today. I installed the short dowel pin into the front of the cam per the instructions. When I installed the large timing gear, I noticed that the dowel pin doesn't engage the timing gear all...

    p/s pump help asap please

The hex is not a bolt, it's part of the power steering pump shaft. The pulley is pressed onto the shaft, and it's a pretty tight fit. You need a power steering puller to remove the pulley, and an installer to press the pulley onto the new pump.

    HCI + SC

A very basic rebuild could be done for about $500, and yes, the motor would have to be pulled. But with 120k miles, you would probably need some machine work done. That means down time while it's out at the machine shop. It would most likely be bored .030 over, which means new pistons and...

Guys with 15" wheels, what tires are you running?

I'm in the market for some new tires for my '92 GT. I've been using BFG Radial TA's on my Welds for the last several years. Rear wheels have 5.5" backspace, so I'm concerned that the 275/50R15 will rub in the back. I currently have a 255/60R15 on there, but they are a little too tall for my...

Copper Header gaskets VS Stock BBK gaskets

I don't think the copper gaskets are necessary. I've been using Fel-Pro 1415 gaskets for years with no problems. I've even re-used them. The gaskets that come with the headers aren't usually that great, so an upgrade would be cheap insurance.
