Hello ALL,

I was wondering if any of you folks have modified a 00 GT stock hood into a RAM AIR style to allow more air to cool the engine bay.

Maybe drill holes into that plastic honeycomb cover or replaced it with a mesh type screen and cut out the underside of the hood's cardboard heat shield?

Saw a ram air hood online but it costs at least 500$ which is a bit much.

Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks.:nice:

It's still not really ram air really since it wouldn't run to the airbox. Some people have done exactly that, drill the honeycomb out, and pull the slotted piece off the bottom on the inside, but you're just asking for little bits of road grime, stones, and dust to get all over the engine bay. Wouldn't be worth it IMHO just to keep underhood temps down.
