I have a 99gt with a blown motor, and thinking about picking up this 89gt up the street. It needs a trans, and has been sitting for a year so I know I have some work ahead of me. I wasn't sure on the trans or anything else? thanks

rear end, shifter, seats, rip out all the stuff for the 5 lug conversion, I believe the drive shaft will fit, im not real sure though, all the suspension stuff. Just keep in mind that the new edge stangs are only fox bodys with new sheetmetal, and a diff engine. some interior stuff, blah, blah.

Rear end is too wide. It will fit, but your tires will stick out 1.25" wider EACH SIDE.

Trans will not work.

Alternator from a 4.6L will NOT bolt up to a 5.0L's bracket. It's a 3g, but it's totally the wrong bolting arrangement.

Go hog-wild and squeeze the whole interior from the 99GT in there. I've seen it done on a '79 Fox, although I imagine some details like the front dash, rear seat, and wiring up the gauges could be a bit of a nightmare. Seats should pretty much just bolt right up, unless they're power seats - have to get fancy with the wiring there, too.

If nothing else ... the shift knob will screw right on there in a few seconds, no tools required.

do NOT use the rear end, you could use the tremec 3650 with some modifications. The rear gears are probably 355's, so those will go right into your current rear end.

That interior is sweet. Although the dash hits the stock fox door handles, What are you doing about that iwash?
