01-04 console into 94 cobra

Any know if a console from a 2001-2004 mustang is a direct replacement for a 94 console. I like these console better as they have cup holders in place of the ashtray. Any info about this swap? Thanks!

itll fit, only difference is the back where the trans tunnel cutout is youll have a gap. on the 99+ cars the tunnel is a little taller

fit just fine, just that gap in the back is all that's wrong with it. interior's all black since i took that pic--just need the black carpet and seats. painted it and rest of the dash/panels w/ duplicolor int vinyl spray--holding up just fine.

for the foglight wiring, i just took the harness off the new console and replaced it w/ mine.

Thanks for the pic punisher. I'm going to look into that console. I really wouldn't mind the gap because it won't be seen. No one sits in my back seat. The person who owned the car before me drilled a big whole in the console for some reason and a couple of the mounting tabs are broken.

Is an automatic console the same as a manual? I know the plastic pieces are the shifters are different but the console is the same right? Nice looking tan one on ebay but its an automatic so was wondering if it will fit. Thanks

i belive they revised the console in 01 and slightly changed the cup holders for better position in relation to the shifter

Yea i got the 01+ console in mine too....fits fine. The 99-00 had the console like ours just with the cupholder insert where our ashtray is.

U're right, i was thinking of the new edge stangs, but they did make the switch in 98.


I've been around....been busy with work, school, and attempting to find some time to work on the car....still is not running

i actually prefer the ashtray so i have have the james bond swith panel....hehe. but then again this isn't my daily driver anymore so it doesn't really matter
