'01 BULLITT goes 13.54 at 101 STOCK, what next?

I never post over here in the mod boards as I normally stick to the '94-95 sections. My mom has an '01 BULLITT that is 100% stock except for a K&N drop in filter. The car has roughly 11K miles on it and its warrenty will be up in June. My mom wants to start modifying it, but we wanted some base line runs in it first. We ran the car with roughly 1500miles on it and I ran a 13.70 at 99.9mph with a 1.91 60' on my 245-50-16 nitto DR's, since then we haven't run it until this past weekend. Sunday there was a track rental at our local track and we decided to run the bullitt once again, but this time on my 26X10.5X16 ET streets. Since mom was also going to be driving, and we didn't want to break anything, I put a hefty 23-25lbs of air in them to provide some stability and to avoid having them dead hook and break something. Mom ran a best of 13.88 at 99mph, I ran a 13.54 at 101. I never thought in a million years the car was capable of this in 100% stock form. All runs were made without powershifting, the car had ~1/2 tank of fuel, and I yanked the spare and jack from the trunk. Here's the slip, what do you think???

Now mom wants to start adding a few things to the car, and that is why I'm posting. SHould we go through the hassle of longtubes, or just leave the stockers on there and get an O/R H pipe? The car will never have forced induction and will remain a bolt-on car with hopes of 12 second ET's. I'm thinking either 4.10 or 4.30's, pulleys, exhaust, T/A, etc... how's that for starters? Any input is appreciated.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was VERY impressed with the car, and mom was too. I was really surprised by how she was able to run herself, I was proud of her.

What about the long tubes and such? Any suggestions?

Just peoples definitions of "stock" differ. Like there was a video of a Mach 1 "stock" going like 13.1 at 102 I think, but what he didn't say was that he had drag radials and everybody got in a tizzy over it. Not to take anything away from you though cause that's a sweet time. That's all

Cool, thanks! I've been doubted before for what my car runs, so I always try to put in every detail about what I did to make the run. I did forget to mention I shifted the car at around 5600. I say around as the stock tach on the bullit is VERY hard to read as they went for the retro look and the lines are very close together. I basically tried to split the distance between 5000 and 6000 and shifted it there. I heard to shift it anywhere from 5500-6000. I think the last time I ran the car I shifted it right where the rad starts on the tach which I think was 5800, but after doing a little reading on bullittclub.com 5600 seemed to be a better shift point. I crossed in 3rd.

I stated in the first post that the run was made on 26X10.5X16 ET streets. The car is still as stock as stock can be, other than the tires and air filter AS WAS STATED. The car is still STOCK. Geez... is it that important? Drag racing is all about putting as much power to the ground as possible, and that power hasn't changed from what was delivered from ford. Even on ET streets, the 101mph still impressed the hell out of me, as well as the ET as it wasn't like the car cut a 1.7, it was a 1.918 which isn't that great. Not to benchrace, but with more wheel time (I've driven the car all of 3 times... all three were at the track too) I know there's even better times in it.

Just to avoid confusion, with ~1200miles on the car I ran a 14.1 at 98.9mph COMPLETELY stock as delivered by ford, paper air filter and air silencer was even in there...hell it probably had the same air they put in the tires from the factory! It was the first time I even sat behind the drivers seat, let alone raced it. I then ran it a week later ON NITTO 245-50-16 DR's and ran a 13.70 at 99.9mph with a 1.91 60'. I haven't driven the car since then and that has been almost 3 years.

JFYI- our track is 1250' above sea level... don't want to confuse anyone there.


Jackie Chan- yes, I remember him doing that back when I ran the 13.7. It was his girl's car if I remember correctly and I think he hit 102. That was the fastest stock bullitt I ever heard of. He ran it at HRP I think which is known to be a quick track. They have since sold it I hear...

Here's a pic of the car, that is my mom and dad in the background. Next to my mom's car is my dad's NA 91GT, he had an off day as it only ran a 12.2 at 111.98mph, it went 12.01 at 115 last year. The pic was taken saturday, but as you can see it was raining and they postponed the race until sunday.
