I am ready to complete another mod to my car. I have been looking at a set of 4:10 gears. I want to hear from those of you who have done this. I drive 120 miles round trip to work daily and do not want to kill the interstate cruising with the vehicle. I am not worried about be able to go 150mph+, just want a car that is quicker off the line, and good for road race. Any help and opinions would be great. I have only had the car 2 months, and it was bone stock when I got it. I am trying to have some fun while I still can!

If you're going with road race, 3.73 would be hitting high on the gearing, but I have no problem with it daily driving or racing

you can still choose 4.10's but it hurts the track outcome, but it's greater on the street

I'm doing 3.73's this spring on my '01 Cobra and here's the calculations I used to decide what I wanted. (3.27 is the stock gear, Tremec 3650 is the stock transmission)

4th gear @ 40 mph w/3.27's = 1700 ... w/3.73's = 2040 ... w/4.10's = 2125
4th gear @ 30 mph w/3.27's =1275 ... w/3.73's =1530 ... w/4.10's =1594

5th gear @ 50 mph ... w/3.27's = 1400 ... w/3.73's = 1680 ... w/4.10's = 1750
5th gear @ 60 mph ... w/3.27's =1680 ... w/3.73's = 2016 ... w/4.10's = 2100
5th gear @ 70 mph ... w/3.27's =1920 ... w/3.73's = 2352 ... w/4.10's =2450

3.73's give a 20% increase in RPM
4/10's give a 25% increase in RPM

I like the 3.73's. I spend alot of time at 80mph and that only puts at 2500 rpm and 22mpg if I had 4.10's id be at almost 3000 and I am sure it would hurt the mileage. I can still spin the tires all the way through second and bark them in third. You probally have 25-30 more horses so I would go 3.73's on yours.
