Thanks for looking. Here's the situation. A dum-dum and my Dad decided to jump his 01 Saleen with a 200AMP starter box on a completely depleted battery against my strenuous objection (been sitting unstarted for over a year). When the key was turned, there was a small amount of smoke from the dash. They then quit, and allowed me to trickle the batt unhooked for a day.
The car did get started but has a persistent Keep Alive Memory voltage low code. It started and ran fine through two tanks of gas to let the computer complete its calibration. That error code persists though doesn't seem to effect drive-ability at all. We had a local mech put his tech computer on it to see if there was any other info. It/he said PATS system was malfunctioning. I believe we have this functionality programmed out with the SCT tuner but perhaps it could still cause errors in the hardware. My understanding is PATS is integral to the cluster, and the cluster needs replaced to start throwing parts somewhere. Problem is, a 200MPH Saleen cluster is not easy to get, and the ones that can be found are expensive takeouts of unknown function.
I am very familiar with GM clusters, but not at all on the Saleen/Fords. Is it possible to buy a replacement GT (very common) cluster to have a functioning PATS (which may or may not even be the end issue with the code) and have the stepper motors programmed to reflect the Saleen gauge face (200MPH speedo and tach range)?
If that is possible, can anyone point to some vendors/sponsors/third-party people that I could reach out to on this?
