Looking for information regarding steps that should be taken to replace/reprogram the srs control module after a collision. I have not attempted to remove the module yet from my car, but I do have replacement bags and a replacement module already. Does the module need to be reprogrammed or can I switch it out with one (Im assuming) that has not been in an accident?
I see some information online that some srs modules are VIN specific or need to be reprogrammed, but I couldn't find much information on this exact year of mustang. I'd prefer to not take it to a dealership just to have them do it.
p.s. Some things I already know: clock spring is still in working order and I know there are no separate impact sensors.
