My 01 GT is making a squeaking noise from the front drivers side wheel area. It is noticeable when I am stationary and turn the wheel. Is this the sign of an outer tie rod? Any ideas? Thanks
Looks like I can get the part for around $30. Is this a fairly easy part to replace? I know I need to get an alignment, but is there anything else i need to get when I do it?
It's the balljoint. A tie rod won't squeak like that. It's happened to me on a few Mustangs, and it happened to me on my F150....Ford ball joints are garbage. Buy a good set of MOOGS replacements. They are simple to install.

I also seem to hear it when I come to a sudden stop in traffic. I will be taking care of it this week. Just looking to see what I can look for to tell if it is either the ball joint or outer tie rod. Has anyone else gone through this?
