How does this come off? I tried turning, pulling, etc. but I am afraid I will snap it off. I see the small "tabs in the base but can't fiqure out how to release them.

Pull it straight up and out with a twisting motion.

Which side do you mean the side which attaches to the plenum or the valve cover? Both yank out wiht enough force without damage.

If it's like mine you can put a wrench on the flat sides and it turns 1/4 of a turn. You don't need to pull on it because it pushes itself out by climbing up a thread/groove as you're turning it.

Yes the base is squared off!.Do you put wrench on it and "lefty lucy". I swear mine feels like it will need about 50 ft/lbs of torque to break loose. I tried but stoped because I did not wat to snap it.

Yep, I've got an 02 GT, and you have to use a wrench on the square sides of the PCV valve. Turn it counter-clockwise. After about 1/4 turn, you can unscrew it by hand.

In fact, I just did it earlier today. Use a 20 mm wrench.

Maybe it's because your Stang is a 2001.
