To remove the front shocks you need remove your tire. Lift the car on the blocks. Put the jack under the control arm. unscrew the shock in the engine bay. lower the jack the shock should come down as you are lowering the jack under the a arm. drop it all the way down. you should be able to pull it out, be careful don't damage the fender. unscrew the two screws on the bottom of shock.... Also be care full with the spring. it's not going to pop out, that's how i changed my springs with out the spring compressor. it worked for me. do it at you own risk.
