Will the 03 to 04 Cobra or Mach1 4v heads bolt to the same year GT?

Yeah, they'll bolt to the block, but nothing else will bolt to them. You'll need intake, alternator, throttle body, throttle linkage, the list goes on and on.

Ok! lets throw out the cobra and go with the mach 1 heads. It's it basically the same engine as the GT, except with 4v heads and a shaker intake? I can get a pair of 4v mach 1 heads for $450 a pair with valves, springs and camshafts. Would the intake bolt to them?

correct me if i am wrong, but the mach 1 heads are the same as cobra heads, at least 99/01 cobra heads. so you would need a cobra or mach 1 style intake, plus everything else to make it work.

I thought that the cobra motor was wider and the mach 1 was the same engine as the GT

Ya, I know that, but I thought that the only difference between the GT and Mach 1 was that the Mach1 has 4v heads and a shaker scoop. I thought that the Cobra motor was wider than both of them.

The 4.6 mod is the same from GT to Mach to Cobra. Yes the heads will bolt onto any of them.

BUT the cost of doing the swap is out there. Unless you have a cheap doner motor it really isn't worth the money. Port, polish and cams then add the boost. Far more power then a cobra.
